The programme of National Volunteer's Service

Focus of the programme is on promotion of volunteer's work, recognition of its values, building and stimulating of legal and social frame for faster development of Montenegro, and providing different volunteer's services, stimulating for employment of young people, non-formal education, mobility and inter-cultural education. ADP – Zid offers several different volunteer's services, intended equaly to volunteers, non-governmental organizations and institutions, aiming contribution in community development.

(link to volunteer's policy) Promotion and development of volunteerism in Montenegro – Organizing promotional campaigns and those for raising awereness of citizens, aiming increasing society surrounding for the future development of volunteerism. These activities are in progress in parallel with activities of lobying and public advocacy, directed to most important interested parties in order to create favorable legal frame and strategy as base for volunteer's work. And when we are talking about future development of volunteerism ADP – Zid wants to develop strong network of volunteer's centers capable to offer efective volunteer's services and engaging big number of different people, but based on mutual and joint interest for volunteering.

Non-formal education – ADP – Zid promoting and strenghtening volunteerism in the country based on results of processed enquiries and researches. Based on this ADP ZID organizing and realizing trainings covering next subjects: volunteerism, volunteer's management, future camp leaders trainings (LTS – Leadership on International Volunteer's Projects), active participation, public advocacy, development of organization, individual development (CV writing, business interview) and public relations. Users of trainings in the past were non-profit organizations and individuals. This kind of service is open for public and governmental institutions interested for engaging volunteers in their work, as well as for companies interested for corporative volunteerism as part of social responsibility of company.

(link to services) Volunteerism and employment – ADP – Zid works on different programmes aiming improvement in youth employment. Aiming this ADP – Zid organizing and realizing different kind of trainings, programmes which contribute to professional specialization and orientation. Beside that, young people have an opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills within volunteer's engagement in institutions and organizations of civil sector and to get practical knowledge and working experience in that way, what contribute to them to be more competent in labor market and to their easier way to get a job.

(link to camps) Short term volunteer's exchange (working camps) – ADP – Zid since 2001. offers a service of sending volunteers from Montenegro abroad and organizing working camps for foreign volunteers in Montenegro. These volunteer's exchanges includes projects and volunteers from all over the World. Within this structure main target is mobility and inter-cultural education. Beside that, international work camps have very positive influence in developing of community and cities in which it was organized.

(link to EVS) Long term volunteer's exchenge – ADP – Zid hosting international volunteers in Montenegro and sending local volunteers abroad in period of time between 3 and 12 months. This kind of volunteer's exchange mainly considering Europe, and it is organized in frame of programme «Youth in action» of European Commission (European Volunteer's Service), network of youth in South East Europe (SEEYN), Service Civil International (SCI) i RIVER SEE programmme (in cooperation with volunteers of UN - UNV). It is possible to be a long term volunteer in Asia or Africa and other countries. In scope of this group of activities main aim is on promotion of active participation of young people and on strenghtening of mutual trust between young people from different countries, community development and strenghtening of capacity of hosting organization. Accommodation of international volunteers in other non-governmental organizations, public and governmental institutions is second important aspect of this service.

Community development programme

This programme aiming active participation of citizens in community development and continuous increasing of life quality and standard, especially young people. With this complex programme ADP – Zid want to contribute to development of democratic established society, as well as in process of European integration. Beside that, main aim of the programme is directed to youth and to need of using a principle of equal chances in society and especially within employment process, what is of crucial importance for this group. One of realized projects was «Look over the South board», with a web-site «Europe for youth» as an important addition.

ADP – Zid has decided to practice combined and wide approach to wide spectar of questions, what comes from basic subjects of the programme, using different methods, as are: non-formal education, research, campaigns for raising awareness among citizens, intiatives within public advocacy, etc...

ADP – Zid, as a part of civil society in Monetenegro, is interested in permanent improving of this sector in society. In order to that, organization leads or participate in different citizen's initiatives, developing of legal system and policies and contributes in development of civil sector that way in general. So, the organization has initiated and lead first serious try in networking in Montenegro – Citizen's Academy , was a main local partner within Public Advocacy Programme Montenegro (MAP, USAID/ORT) which started aiming to support local and national initiatives of public advocacy, and ADP ZID was a project carrier of one of largest networks of NGOs and communities at Balkans – Citizen's Pact for South East Europe , what is very good illustration of previous engagement of the organization within this field.

ADP – Zid was active participant within development of Youth Policy in Montenegro, and based on this experience the organization initiated production of Volunteer's Strategy in Montenegro.

In the frame of the project «EU is not a member of your political party» ADP – Zid worked on question of discrimination and badly treatment of young people within a process of employment. The organization identified next steps which should put the corruption under society control and lack of equality during a process of employment in public sector. Beside that, in cooperation with a partners from Europe, ADP – Zid has developed few project proposals in order to improve employment of young people and their competetive values on labor market in general.

Initiative for Jusovaca (linked for Jusovaca)

ADP – Zid lead an initiative of public advocacy «Jusovaca», aiming to create local and cultural center in Podgorica, in the space of old and devastated prison with the same name. Sustainability study is already produced, including project idea and draft of future development. But, lack of cooperation and support of city administration and autocracy in city affairs disabling realization of those plans for some time.

In order to increase awereness of citizens, organization often initiate different kinds of campaigns to support citizen's needs and help them to actvie participation within questions of importance for developing of community. Examples for illustration of this engagement of organization are: initiative of protest in order to protect river Tara, what results with adoption of Parliamentary declaration in Montenegro, starting a campaign for protection of green areas in Podgorica, in that time endangered with city planning, or realization of campaign against division in society and islamophobia...

ADP – Zid has started with publishing of satirical magazine «ZID» in 1997. In time magazine builded a reputation of objective and indenpendent media processed questions of importance for process of democratization in the country and often the magazine play the role of critic and objective viewer. Beside that, in scope of publishing activities organization has published series of thematic and authorship books.

One of activities of the organization is presenting European integration processes, where we are targeting young people as a special group, but also wider public. Within promotion materials as well as within Internet page (www.evropazamlade.cg.yu) key aspects of integration processes are presented, as well as services for young people.

From 2006. to 2008. ADP – Zid has published and distribuited two editions of the book «You are right! A guide trough law and all the rest». This book was designed as a reliable and interesting guide in what young people (and media, NGOs, public institutions, schools, etc.) can find numerous informations grouped in 15 theme units, what will make possible for the reader to learn more of their rights and responisibilities defined by law. Expected is that young readers will be able to use existing legal procedures in order to protect their rights and improve their position within society.

All programmes and projects of ADP – Zid realized in the past and included different culture forms, not just of social engagement, but as programmes were of high cultural values and also of affirmative importance for different kinds of urban subculture. Good examples of this approach are projects «Instead of stupidity» and «Expedition», as well as documentary movie pictures in ADP ZID production.

" Sinteza " is a trade mark of a network in the frame of ADP ZID, with intention of gathering different performers, musucians and DJs, aiming promotion of their work in Montenegro and abroad. In past few years several programmes and concerts were realized.
